If you are freezing your own block ice for the Olde New Orleans Block Ice Shaver, keep a couple of things in mind. We highly recommend using our plastic ice mold liners/bags, # 1488 or your freezing ability will be severely limited by the number of actual molds (Item #1487) you have. Additionally freeze the blocks slowly at about 10 degrees above zero. Trying to force the freezing process by using extremely cold temperatures will only create low quality ice blocks with internal flaws, that will shatter as soon as you start to shave them. Item numbers # 1488 and # 1487 are NOT included and must be ordered separately.
