Is there such a thing as too much popcorn? And why does equipment have a habit of moving whenever the Professor reaches for it?
Professor HT Theater is a proud graduate of the prestigious University of Tuscany, an institution whose campus, accreditation records and exact location have proven surprisingly difficult to verify.
After completing an academically rigorous program of study, the Professor devoted himself to the science of home theater seating, projectors, screens, reclining mechanisms, cupholders, tray tables, popcorn and other subjects of considerable theatrical importance.
His teaching philosophy is simple: reading specifications is useful, but pushing every button, opening every compartment and actually trying the equipment is much more educational.
The Professor's experiments do not always proceed exactly as planned. Dropped accessories, misplaced equipment and unexpected encounters with nearby furniture are generally classified as part of the scientific process.
Professor HT Theater can usually be identified by a bow tie large enough to have its own gravitational field. No one knows how large a bow tie must become before it qualifies as a laboratory hazard. Research continues.
The Professor has been known to experience occasional eye trouble during his research. Fortunately, it has yet to interfere with his ability to locate a comfortable recliner, a projector screen or a nearby cupholder.
From time to time, the Professor reports that he and “the wife” are experiencing certain differences of scientific opinion. The University of Tuscany has declined to comment, and details remain outside the scope of his published research.

Alan has spent decades working with home theater products and helping customers plan dedicated theaters and media rooms. Professor HT Theater gives him an excuse to demonstrate those products while taking the subject seriously and himself considerably less seriously.
When Alan appears as Professor HT Theater, expect the oversized bow tie, questionable academic credentials and an occasional mishap. When Alan appears as himself, he is the owner of HTmarket and the person behind the business.
